About Me

I’m a professional photographer based in Ottawa, Ontario, specializing in corporate events, weddings, and headshots. Since 2008, I’ve photographed hundreds of events across Canada and internationally, always guided by my core values of Respect, Integrity, Excellence, and Engagement.

I love the adrenaline rush of photographing once in a lifetime moments — the split second decisions, the anticipation, and the joy of framing a perspective that will never exist again. Some of my most meaningful experiences include capturing a few quiet moments during my own wedding day in 2015, and photographing polar bears and icebergs with my brother along the rugged coastline of Nunavut in 2010. The photo of me on this page was taken by him in Montreal, just hours before we boarded an Air Inuit flight to Resolute Bay.

These experiences shaped not only my craft, but the way I approach every assignment — whether it’s a corporate gala, a wedding celebration, or a portrait session here in Ottawa.

Respect — My Paramount Approach to Ethical Photography

My values

I believe deeply in human dignity, individuality, and privacy.

My work ethic

I love photographing people, places, and moments from around the world — but I am not a paparazzi. I know exactly where to draw the line, and I make a conscious effort to honour the people and stories in front of my lens.

A moment that reinforced this happened on December 4, 2018, at Canada’s National Arts Centre. The honourable Jean Chrétien, Canada’s 20th Prime Minister, entered the room. As he walked by, I politely asked if I could take his photo. Before I could finish my sentence, a dozen phones were suddenly pointed at him. He stopped, pointed at me, and said, “This gentleman was the only one to ask me if I wanted my photo taken.” He then gave me a few quiet seconds to capture his portrait. That moment reminded me why consent and respect matter. You can always count on me to ask first, listen carefully, and photograph you with dignity.

Integrity — Professional Standards in Every Image

My values

I operate my business with professionalism.

My work ethic

My name is attached to every image I create — whether it’s written on the photo or not. I care deeply about my work and my reputation, and I always prioritize quality over quantity. While I’m skilled with Photoshop, I favour a natural, authentic look.

I also protect the integrity of my artistic work. Image theft is a very real issue for photographers. Once, someone called me because she was trying to illegally copy one of my images to make a holiday card. She became angry that my watermark made it difficult. Before I could even offer to sell her the image legitimately, she hung up. That moment reaffirmed my commitment to safeguarding my work and the business information entrusted to me.

Excellence — My Commitment to High Quality Photography

My values

I always perform to the best of my abilities and embrace continuous learning.

My work ethic

“Go big or stay home” is a motto I hold close. When I pick up my camera, I bring full energy, focus, and intention. I love what I do so much that it rarely feels like work — but behind the scenes, I’m constantly calculating, adjusting, and learning.

As National Geographic photographers often say, the goal is to be in the “zone of maximum possibility.” I seek that zone in every assignment, using my mind, my feet, and my experience to find the best vantage point. I don’t “run and gun” or “shoot from the hip.” When I do something, I do it well. I am a professional, and so is my work.

Engagement — Creating Comfortable, Joyful Client Experiences

My values

I love being a photographer, and rain or shine, I’m fully engaged with my camera.

My work ethic

Photography that documents human hardship is powerful and important, and I hope to someday use my skills to help shine a light on social injustices. For now, my focus is on capturing the happy, joyful moments that bring people together.
